Humming, humming, humming
Please go away, go far
You don’t belong
Humming
They come in crowding hordes
As one, a lethal force
Oh stay away
Humming
Hours we spent creating
Building squirrels a house
Hornets took it
Humming
They’ve found a home
One that they like
They will not leave
Humming
A hose-like deadly spray
Will see the hornets die
Still some survive
Humming
Humming

This is WONDERFUL Barbara. The repetition of that one word “humming” at the end of each stabza realky gives the reader a feek of the hornets) constant hum. Very effectuve. How frustrating though, to have that experience with the hirnets. Don’t think I would like it. A bir scary. Hope they didn’t sting you!

Thank you so much for your comment. When I posted it, I didn’t think it really very good. It’s good to know it is at least acceptable. No. No stings. But I can only hope none of the squirrels that had started using the house were hurt. My son placed the house rather high up on one of our redwood trees.

Wonderful imagery, Barbara. Hornets are so aggressive aren’t they? We battle them here, too. yes, that spray works well, but there always seems to be one or two that get away, even when done later at night.
