Emotions raw
Restrained, refined
A roaring Irish temper honed
Into stiletto sharpness
Fiery its effect
Across the footlights
Each behavior scrutinized
And every look rehearsed
Once drab and lifeless locks
Replaced by jet black tresses
Long and silky
As the actress’ creamy skin
Enhanced by kohl and rouge
Portrays a look of porcelain
As real as her projected image
False, oblique
As other roles
We play upon the boards of life.
