Warming spring and summer days
Come to banish winter’s hold
I greet new opening buds of lupine
Softening lines of pond and meadow
Poppies blazing up steep hillsides
Bleak just one cold week ago.

Let us walk awhile and chuckle
With the chattering brook’s new laughter –
From a point above our pasture –
Watch the ever-forming fabrics
Woven from soft verdant hues
Of grasses, petals, leaves and moss
